With Covid-19 currently spreading in Sierra Leone, the young mothers and families who rely on the Judy Smith Health Centre in Taiama are faced with astronomically rising food prices. A bag of rice now costs 50% more than it did three months ago. Babies and mothers will go hungry. Our goal is to raise $2,000 to increase the frequency of our current baby food supplement program from once a month ($200 feeds 50 toddlers for a week) to twice a month and to add a rice supplement ($1.00 per kilogram) for the mothers, for a minimum of 6 months.
If you can donate at this time it will be greatly appreciated by these mothers and their families!
Donations may be made on-line with the PayPal button on our website www.taiama.org, or e-transfers to email@example.com. ($50 will buy a 50 lb bag of rice or one quarter of the monthly food supplement).
